Hi everyone!
Introducing our new Endangered Bodies Ireland logo! The design was provided by Mary Fannon (sister-in-law of Tara Fannon who has written some of our previous blog posts and who also contributes to Endangered Bodies New York). Massive thanks to Mary and Tara for their work on this. Mary gave us this really interesting rationale for the design which she called 'the nude shamrock' ...
"The four leaf clover/shamrock is an iconic symbol of Ireland. The four leafed clover is much harder to find than the three leafed version and is considered lucky for this reason. The icon in the logo design is the fourth leaf, emphasised because it is precious and unique. The three leaf shamrock is centred within, to visually link the icon with the leaves of the shamrock. The icon shape indicates three things -
It is shaped like:
1. a tear drop
2. an upside down heart
3. It is also shaped like a seated, female nude bottom.
The first two aspects represent the feelings of those who are unhappy in their body shape. The third aspect shows a healthy female form".
We're really happy with our logo and we hope you love it too! Hopefully you'll see more of it as we continue to grow from strength to strength.
